Commentary From the Margins

Homer Kizer, author, teacher, prophet, comes from the margins to challenge the social constructs underpinning Western theology through the restoration of the primitive faith.

A Day Late

Disciples, like house finches to a winter bird feeder, flock to Christian teachers that bring forth messages about spoiling Egypt, about sowing into these teachers' ministries and reaping physical prosperity in this present age. These disciples eagerly anticipate a bodily rapture to heaven, or escape to a physical place of safety. They don't want to hear that many or most of these disciples will live into that period of thrashing represented by great tribulation, a period in human history when the Church gives birth to many sons of God by experiencing anguish akin to the hard labor pains a woman experiences during human childbirth. They especially don't want to hear that they, because of their teachers, will be rejected by God as was the circumcised nation that crossed the Sea of Reeds. That circumcised nation couldn't enter God's rest because of its unbelief (Ps 95:10-11; Heb 3:19) which became disobedience when it tried to enter the following day (Heb 4:6). Disciples, during that period when the wheat is thrashed, will not enter God's rest (Heb 4:9) because of this holy nation's unbelief that becomes disobedience (2 Thess 2:3) when it tries to enter on the following day, the day that it has traditionally set aside for this purpose.

Children of Promise

As Americans, our cultural sense of justice tends to minimize the significance of divine election or calling. Our ideals are democratic, with every person created with equal rights and equal opportunity. We claim that this equality is self-evident. And though we do not fully implement this self-evident equality, we export it to the world, expecting other nations and cultures to embrace values that are really Greek, not Judaic.

The Texture of Scripture

Texture (as opposed to text, both terms used in their literary sense) purports that the meaning of a particular text or narrative isn't necessarily contained within the narrative but resides within the context in which the narrative is received. Texture recognizes that meaning is assigned to words and to passages of words, that the literal or denotative meanings usually assigned to the words are not the intended assignments of meaning. In this, reading texture differs from reading symbolism that has been placed within the narrative. Texture is not contained within the narrative; it isn't in the text. It is always in how the text is received, and it is conveyed through the use of certain literary conventions.

Created for Glory

The prophet Isaiah writes, '"You are my witnesses,' declares the Lord, 'and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he"' (43:10 - English Standard Version, used throughout) who has declared what will be from the beginning, who has set his hand to recover '"everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made'" (v. 7).

The Importance of Ministry

The purpose of the ministry in every Christian denomination and in every fellowship is, first, to equip the saints for the work of ministry. It isn't first to promote civil good or to advocate for social justice. It isn't first to preach Christ to Muslims or to Buddhists. It isn't first to build television networks or cathedrals. It isn't first to heal the sick or to cast out demons. It is to bring disciples to spiritual maturity so that these disciples can in turn bring additional disciples to maturity who will bring additional disciples to maturity. Disciples come when God the Father draws (John 6:44, 65), and Christ Jesus calls (John 15:16, 19) them from the world. A person doesn't choose God, or choose to give his or her heart to the Lord unless God has first drawn the person. Decision theology is bad doctrine. And more resources have been squandered trying to cajole the reluctant to accept Christ as their personal savior than has been spent equipping born-from-above disciples for doing the work of ministry.

The Veneer of Civilization

The perception in the United States is that Anglo-Europeans sit at the apex of civility, that we are somehow different than the barbarians. This difference has apparently developed since Henry had Sir Thomas More's head lopped off, and since Lady Jane Gray was burned at the stake, with a bag of gunpowder around her neck to ease her suffering when the flames were upon her. This difference developed since Joseph Smith was lynched, and since Hitler sent millions to their graves and Stalin sent millions more to the Gulag--since black men throughout the South were lynched, since Los Angeles' Watts riots, since Ruby Ridge and Waco and Wounded Knee. The timeline for American barbarism circles back upon itself to include smallpox inflected blankets given to peaceful tribes, and civilized nations marched over a trail of tears.

The Greater Church

The Remainder of THE TEMPTATION

Mel Gibson's movie THE TEMPTATION powerfully conveys the suffering of Christ Jesus when Theos, the Logos, was made sin for the salvation of humanity. But servants are not greater than their Master. Jesus said that if they, the religious leaders of the holy nation of Israel, persecuted Him, they will similarly persecute His disciples. This is not persecution by civil authorities, but by those who believe they do God a favor when they kill Believers. Thus, Gibson's movie leaves unshown the remainder of the spiritual temptation account foreshadowed in Genesis, when disobedience produced death.

The Spiritual Sons of God

The Son of Man will be revealed with the suddenness of the flood of Noah's day (Luke 17:26-30). People will be going about their business, doing those things that constitute their everyday routines until a specific day and hour when, as the first labor contraction seizes a pregnant woman, the mundane affairs of humanity suddenly cease. Evangelical Christianity has captured the suddenness of this revealing of the Son of Man in its Rapture theology. But this sect of the greater Christian Church has entirely missed the nature of the revealing, which will be the Church's liberation from bondage to sin just as the ancient circumcised nation of Israel was liberated from physical bondage in Egypt. And as a woman going into labor is not interested in politics or social teas or whether laundry needs to be done, the Church, stunned and in great pain, will momentarily cease its denominational quarreling as it is empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The Problem With Prophecy

The problem with biblical prophecy isn't that it is difficult to understand or that it has been sealed and secret until the time of the end. The problem is what these prophecies reveal. Just as Jesus, the first of the firstfruits, was consigned to death so that humanity might live, all of the firstfruits have been consigned to death during the first half of seven years of tribulation. The Evangelical Church will not be bodily raptured to heaven, nor will the Sabbath-observing Church of God go to a place of safety. Disciples who cling to the prophetic teachings of Herbert Armstrong will not go to Petra. They will die; their blood will be shed to redeem the other half of humanity. They will either save their spiritual lives by holding fast to the laws of God, especially the Sabbath commandment, or they will lose their spiritual lives by trying to save their physical lives. The choice will theirs alone; their choice will be made when obedience, by faith, to the laws of God will be their only covering for sin. They will have the power to physically execute whatever their secret thoughts are. If those thoughts are to obey God regardless of the cost, they will have the power, through faith, to go to the grave when necessary as they submit their will to the Father's. If those secret imaginations are, however, contrary to the laws of God, those imaginations will be acted upon and will be made visible for everyone to see.

'Twas the Night Before Christimas

The commandments of God are the mirrors that reflect the root of righteousness onto which wild olive branches have been grafted, these wild branches still bearing wild fruit as is the way of nature. These wild branches replaced the broken off natural branches so long ago that they have forgotten why it was the natural branches were rejected. The prophet Isaiah, citing God, writes to the house of Judah, '"I cannot endure iniquity [lawlessness] and solemn assembly. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; they have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them'" (Isa 1:13-14). The prophet Amos, citing God, writes to the house of Israel, "'I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies'" (Amos 5:21). So to both houses of the holy nation of Israel, God unequivocally states that He hates their Sabbaths, new moons, and appointed feast days. God doesn't hate His Sabbaths as evidenced by the Apostle Paul keeping them, and even decades later, commanding the saints at Corinth to keep the Passover as Jesus set the example. But both houses of the holy, physically circumcised nation were rejected, partially at least for coupling iniquity to the Sabbaths of God, thereby transforming God's Sabbaths into solemn assemblies that were of the people's construction.

Another Installment of The Port Austin Soap Opera

I invite input on how to handle situations similar to this one. Jesus washed the feet of Judas a few hours before Judas betrayed Him-and Jesus knew who would betray Him. I knew on August 20th that Norm intended to betray the other trustees. I raised a little stink, and took flak for doing so. I had hopes that Norm would not follow through on what he intended, but my hopes provoked the ire of those individuals who trusted Norm-and continues to provoke the ire of those who still trust Norm. But out of tough love for Norm, I could not then condone what he intended to do without raising my voice. Nor can I today leave Norm without a place to live. So my dilemma. Again, I invite input.

No Miracles for Nazareth

When Jesus began His ministry in Galilee, He taught in the synagogues and was initially glorified by all (Luke 4:14-15). But when He came to the synagogue at Nazareth, He read from the prophet Isaiah. He read about proclaiming good news to the poor, liberty to captives, recovering sight to the blind, and the year of the Lord's favor. He told those in the synagogue that the words of the Prophet were being then fulfilled in their hearing. And those who heard Him spoke well of Him. But Jesus pushed those in the synagogue out of their comfort zone: He went on to say that no prophet is accepted in his hometown, that there were many widows in Israel when God sent Elijah to a Phoenician, that there were many lepers in Israel but Elisha cleaned only Naaman the Syrian. Those in the synagogue who minutes before had spoken well of Jesus were now filled with anger, and they drove Him out of town and to the brow of a hill where they could cast Him to His death. But He passed through the midst of the crowd and went to Capernaum, where He taught in their synagogue.

How To Steal Fair and Square

Edwards used the authority he assumed through filing the revised purchase agreement to evict Philip Frankford from Dorm #2, located on Property 2, the outlot on which Dorms 1, 2, and 3 are located. Edwards then evicted Paul Drieman from Dorm #1 through placing on Drieman conditions of continued occupancy that were exceedingly unreasonable. Edwards next evicted himself from Dorm #3 through overloading electrical circuits and causing a fire to the uninsured property, thereby endangering not only himself and his family but attendees to a music camp he was allegedly holding. At the time of the fire, there was no working smoke detection system within Dorm #3. Edwards truly placed at risk lives that had been entrusted to him.

I have read, to their chagrin, leaders of the slivered churches of God who have linked the exceedingly deadly Indian Ocean tragedy to the earthquakes in diver places that will occur before the hard labor pains of the last Eve bringing many sons of God to glory begin. These leaders have nearly unanimously identified the quake as a punishment of God on unrighteous sinners, and they have universally offered literature showing that the endtime signs of Christ's return will include more earthquakes as if Christ has to warm up like a baseball pitcher before delivering an endtime spitter.

This Vagueness Was Intentional

Edwards could not write words more spiritually condemning. His justification for his actions is in the letter of the law. He admits using words that were intentionally vague for his advantage. Elsewhere in his letter of January 25th, Edwards acknowledges that a contract with Arthur Hawkins for sale of the residence existed, that he had verbal permission to convey this land contract, that he accepted moneys on behalf of Hawkins and ELBI and not on behalf of PASCC. Thus, Edwards legally functioned as an agent for Hawkins and ELBI, thereby raising the question of conflicting interests during the period when the Purchase Agreement known as Liber 1048, dated April 28, 2004, was being negotiated. But Edwards is, in the triteness of colloquial expressions, small potatoes. He lacks the financial ability to make the three defrauded trustees whole.

Published and Produced Without Written Permission

Edwards gave her songs away. Anyone now can, with a request to Edwards for a free copy of the CD (and an offering given to Edwards), use Ms Drieman's songs as long as the songs are performed free of charge. But Edwards does not have the right to give permission to use her songs to anyone! It is questionable whether he ever had the right to use her songs in the first place. Elizabeth Drieman might or might not freely grant permission for one-time use of her songs to anyone so requesting permission. That prerogative is hers, and hers alone. That is not a prerogative that can be assigned by a third party. Therefore, Edwards has usurped authority that was never his, and he has used this usurped authority to transfer the intellectual property of Elizabeth Drieman to anyone who might want to use her songs sometime in the future.

Christian Identity A Dirty Stain at Port Austin

The financial resources of the Identity movement, like an underground aquifer, was discovered by one of those five mysterious Detroit businessmen sometime in the mid-1990s. But the drilling operation to exploit this resource didn't begin until the Exide Battery scandal broke. Then, this new field must hurriedly be brought on line. Pumps were installed by a tax-exempt corporation during the spring of 2000, and these pumps began to produce enough that other fields could be shutdown. Port Austin was one of those fields that was capped. Only a low-profile presence was required. But Potts' visa problems required that he actually do ministry work or return to Australia. He had to be moved out of Port Austin, and someone else slipped into his place. Enter now, Norman Scott Edwards, with a figurative offering of two pigeons.

Speak What God Gives You

Therein lies the taint of the Edwards/Rector affair. Edwards usurps Bevere's authorial rights. His love for himself and his righteousness exceeds the love he has for a personally unknown brother in Christ. Matthew 18 wasn't intended to be a horn blown by Texas blowhearts to boast about their own righteousness, and offenses taken to their sensibilities, but that is what it seems to have become. And that is how Edwards used Scripture.

Raymond Dick

What Ray realized was that there were still three and a half years of tribulation left after armies surround Jerusalem. I believe this was the prophetic baton that he carried by himself year after year. And after, in December 2001, reading Ray's article on prophecy published in the Journal, I realized he was correct-not in everything he wrote, for he accepted The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion as a valid text, but in the premise that the battle of Armageddon and armies surrounding Jerusalem are separate events three and a half years apart. For forty years, one man quietly accepted the authority under which he had placed himself. He could have rebelled. He could have gone out on his own to do a work for God. But he accepted the premise that God was in charge of the only work that he knew being done with the energy and dynamism of the Worldwide Church of God. And for this, Ray Dick deserves praise.

Judging Rightly More Edwards on Edwards

Edwards establishes himself as a judge in the matter of the Lees dispute with UCG. The Lees wrote, "Then brother Paul Luecke in his September 13, 2000 letter to us said no less than four ministers were in agreement on this matter [suspension] with us and says we were cynical, insulting, had angry accusations toward the Bismark brethren, issued ultimatums, threatened and had disdain for the local pastor, other ministers and UCG administration" (SN 27). Edwards then comments on the cited passage from the Lees' letter: "I think there were places your letters were cynical, insulting and showed disdain for the UCG administration. In some cases, I think they deserved it" (27). They deserved it--is this judging another man's servant? They might well have deserved it, but where is the evidence upon which a reader could make this decision? And for the reader to make such a decision is going down the wrong road.

But within the local community, gossip has it that the fire was set to collect the insurance money-and I have had to assure those who suggest money as a motive that there is absolutely no truth in such speculation. The dorm was uninsured. In fact, a significant cause of conflict throughout August 2004 was the lack of insurance, fire and liability, on all of the property being purchased by the trust (PASCC).

This theory allows for biological evolution to occur without such evolution discrediting the Genesis creation account. It has become a Christian compromise position that has no textual basis and actually reveals a lack of spiritual discernment and a lack of understanding Hebraic poetry.

From Hand To Heart

Hebraic poetry uses thought couplets in structural arrangements that possess complexities similar to how poetry in Indo-European languages use rhyming couplets. Thought couplets will survive translation whereas rhyming does not. Meaning has no hard link to sound, but again, must be assigned to sound. Thought couplets transcend the sounds assigned to convey them. Any appropriate, condensed use of language will convey the same or very similar meaning; whereas sound in rhyming structures is used to enhance meaning, and as an aid to memorization, but the effect is lost when the structure is translated into another language.

Real Issues - Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing at Port Austin

Paul Drieman has become known for the expression, Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing, and the main thing at Port Austin is that four men signed a real estate purchasing agreement on April 28, 2004. One of those men on September 17, 2004, without empowerment in law or by contract, refiled the real estate contract in his name alone, the refiled contract to supercede the initial contract. Of course there are side issues, none of which have bearing on the main thing. All of these side issues revolve around a sacred purpose trust indenture that Peter Kershaw was commissioned on April 7, 2004 to write, the commission calling for the four men to be trustees.

Let Nature Take Its Course

Let nature take its course--human beings are powerless to stop nature from taking its course, except within themselves if they have been born anew. Then, the old creature that each disciple was is crucified; i.e., nailed to Death where it will slowly weaken and suffocate. A new creature born of Spirit that is a son of God will dwell in the same tabernacle or tent of flesh into which the crucified old creature was born of the water of the womb. This new creature is an actual child of God, again, cute in the same way that all infants are. This child, though, will mature into spiritual adolescence, when it isn't so cute but rather, is seen or judged by its obedience - if a moose calf can stay where its mother instructs it, why can't disciples?

Living Stones

Disciples as the temple of God are living stones (1 Pet 2:4-5). They are living clay, turned on the Master's potter's wheel to form vessels for special or honored usage. The same clay that is used to form bricks, with refinement, is used to create humble chamber pots and royal soup tureens. The flesh of a drawn disciple and of a Muslim or of a Buddhist is the same. But so too is the flesh of a hypocrite and of a chosen disciple the same. The difference is the presence or absence of spiritual life in the first case, and of obedience in the second case.

Their breath, which was from the Father, returns to the timeless heavenly realm, but they rest in sleep within time until the full number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete (Rev 6:9-11).

Less Than Upright

Four Sabbatarians came together to conduct a ministry at Port Austin, Michigan. One tried to lie to the court. Another defrauded the other three, and filed a court action he should have known was clearly wrong to file. Is this the legacy of the Churches of God? It seems to be, for many Sabbatarians continue to support liars and thieves that posture as ministers of righteousness--and I haven't yet reached into the greater Church where lawlessness is taught as a principle tenet of faith. If we cannot clean our own house, how can we expect anyone to hear our words about walking uprightly before God?

Katrina: An Act of God?

Disciples should do as Abraham did: they should reason with God to save sinners for the sake of the righteous who dwell among them. These sinners will, someday, be born from above and will become the great harvest of God. In particular, if these sinners live to the middle of the seven endtime years of tribulation, they become the featured great harvest that is silently ripening even though they are not now part of the Body of Christ. They will become the Body when the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all flesh.

The Second Day

For a short while, the division of humanity between who is born from above and who isn't will continue as this second spiritual day extends towards its two millennia mark. For a short while, grace will continue to cloak the body of the Son of Man. Therefore, since the time is short, all disciples need to take advantage of what time they have to practice walking uprightly before man and God. All too soon, liberation will occur. The Son of Man will be revealed. And disciples who haven't practiced walking uprightly will unknowingly, but willingly rebel against God--they will then slay their righteous brother and truly believe that they have done God a favor.

Typology and Typological Exegesis

To understand what has occurred and what will occur in this timeless dimension that is heaven, disciples need to practice typological exegesis. They might then see themselves in the course of history. Hopefully, they will be repulsed by their "natural" faces and will turn to God, begging forgiveness for slaying the sheep. Scripture, however, indicates that they will never see themselves as they are.

Many are called, but few are chosen, for few indeed are the disciples who will now hear Jesus' voice just prior to the midnight hour. Few, indeed, will look up, not out at the horizon where the harvest moon rose two millennia ago on this single, long night of watching. Few will see how short are their shadows at midnight, for few will ever leave the darkness, where they comfortably await their burial in denominational roadhouses.

The Killing Road

Broad is the road traveled by semis hauling sugar beets to the processing plant, by pickup trucks and passenger cars and most Christians going shopping on the Sabbath. Narrow is the path that leads to God's rest. And the Lord will not be inquired of by those traveling the super highway that goes directly to the flames of the gehenna fire, foreshadowed by the fires of Molech through which the natural nation of Israel made its children pass. The valley of the son of Hinnom became the garbage dump for the city of Jerusalem. The lake of fire will be the spiritual garbage dump where carcasses of rebelling infant sons of God are burned to utter destruction, consumed totally by unquenchable flames.

On Whom the End of the Ages Has Come

If what Paul taught came by revelation, the question remains valid: why did Paul believe that he would live to see Jesus' return? And the answer has to be in that Paul knew, by revelation, he was among those on whom the end of the ages has come. So what Paul wrote as he continued his instruction to the saints at Corinth becomes tremendously important: "Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall" (1 Co 10:12).

When Is [Close] Close Enough?

Two resurrections--one when Christ returns, one after the thousand years and after Satan has been loosed for a short while. The first resurrection is of firstfruits only, with judgment presently (i.e., in this age while the disciples live physically) being on every disciple who has been baptized into the household of God (1Pet 4:17). The second resurrection is of the main harvest of God, when the majority of those who will be saved first receive spiritual birth, or a second birth as a spiritual child of God. Judgment only occurs after death, with baptism representing real death (Heb 9:27). And all other teachings about being resurrected to judgment are not of God and are to be rejected.

The Journey Not Begun

When Anabaptists left spiritual Babylon in the 16th-Century through their non-participation in the affairs of state, thereby alienating the Roman Church and the Reformed Church, these Anabaptists sought a return to the precepts of the law, sans Sabbath observance, and they sought to separate themselves from their worldly neighbors through plain dress. The Anabaptists, though, were never unified in theology or in customs. They were, in a practical sense, an unorganized rush of disciples out of spiritual Babylon, all headed in the general direction of Jerusalem, all leaving as soon as they could get out, with Andreas Fischer among the first to wade the waters separating Judea from the western deserts of Babylon. But few disciples followed Fischer; few entered into keeping the Sabbath. It wasn't then time.

Plain Talk

As the earthly body of the man Jesus was resurrected after three days and three nights, the spiritual Body of the Son of Man will be resurrected on the year of Jubilee after a period spiritually equivalent to the three days and three nights. The suggestion of Scripture is that this resurrection to life occurs on the Second Passover liberation of Israel, the event that begins the seven endtime years of tribulation. This means Scripture suggests that the Body of Christ remains concealed and remains dead until that time.

What Does a Vision Mean?

A vision differs from a dream by greater intensity and by infrequent occurrence. The prophet Daniel had five recorded visions. The Apostle Peter had one. The Apostle Paul had two or three. The Apostle John had one that he recorded [modern scholarship doubts that John the Revelator was also John, the disciple Jesus loved]. So visions from God occur, but not often. And when they occur, they happen for a reason.

When Satan is cast to earth, acceptance of the tattoo of the Cross is acceptance of the mark of death-this person has just marked him or herself for death when Christ returns. And there is little anyone can do to cause this person to cease worshiping Death, the beast to whom God will deliver a mortal wound half way through the seven endtime years. Not even the death of Jesus and of two parts of humankind is enough (Zech 13:7-8) until the Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh.

Circumcision and the Synagogue of Satan

The synagogue of Satan is not the hated son Esau born to the last Isaac (the Apostle Paul identified disciples as children of promise as Isaac was a son of promise--Gal 4:28); rather, this hated son, like endtime Jacob, is of promise, but because he is covered by his own righteousness and has chosen his own prophets and prophetesses he does not strive or wrestle with God. He does not have the spirit of prophecy. He falsely teaches the ways of God, and he will die either physical or spiritually during the first 1260 days of the seven endtime years of tribulation. Sadly, even though spiritual Esau publicly teaches disciples to keep the weekly Sabbath, this Esau will be rejected because he will not keep the high Sabbaths of God. He will not cover himself with the Passover blood of the Lamb of God.

Peter condemns this lawless community when he writes, "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction [when judgments are revealed]" (2 Pet 2:1).
The Problem With Tithing

For fifty years in the middle of the 20th-Century, disciples taught by Herbert Armstrong were encouraged to pray-and-pay, and discouraged themselves from teaching others. Consciously or subconsciously, Armstrong patterned an organization after the Roman Church, with him functioning like a Pope. He declared his decrees on all matters the expressed word of God, and he directed that all moneys be sent to headquarters (or for a few fiscal quarters, to him personally in Tucson). And from headquarters local rentals were paid and local ministers compensated. Thus, ministers' loyalties were to him, not to the disciples they taught or even to Christ Jesus.

This is something that very few Arabic speakers can accept today. Therefore, the circumcised sons of Ishmael and of Esau will not [because they are linguistically prevented from perceiving Allah as Christ Jesus] receive the Holy Spirit and a second birth prior to when the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all flesh (Joel 2:218) halfway through the seven endtime years. Arabic speakers will then, however, make up much of the third part of humankind (Zech 13:9) that accounts for the great harvest of firstfruits.

The Visions of Obadiah

Edwards' blatant theft of the property--he filed the revised Purchasing Agreement that eliminated the other three on 17 September 2004, but neglected to tell the three until 29 October 2004-has served as a schism to divide the Sabbatarian community as little else has: Edwards has supporters who see nothing amiss in his elimination of Williams, Drieman, and Frankford. Apparently the position that Edwards' supporters take is that if he could do so, why not? Others Sabbatarian disciples, though, have a problem with Edwards' acts, and have marked Edwards as a person to be avoided; as a person with whom a genuine disciple shall not eat or have any fellowship. Returning now to Port Austin: those who support Edwards do not sigh and cry about his wrong-doing. They are, or would like to believe that they are, in the sanctuary, where the slaying will begin (Ezek 9:6). It will be their turn to cry aloud when they are cast into the lake of fire. The Lord [YHWH] told Ezekiel, "'The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice__my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will bring their deeds upon their heads'" (9:9-11).
The Repentance of Zacchaeus

There has recently been a case in the Port Austin area where one man, Norm Scott Edwards, who claims to be the brother of another, Terry Monte Williams, acknowledged in writing that he owed the other $85,140.00. These moneys represented William's life savings, but Edwards would not repay Williams what he had acknowledged that he owed. He sought the help of other disciples to mediate between them, and he began to claim that the moneys advanced were contributions to his ministry that he did not have to repay. He would not do what Zacchaeus did: offer to repay fourfold what he had taken by fraudulent means. He would not even repay what he acknowledged he owed.

Jesus must again enter Jerusalem on the 10th day of the first month, riding a white horse this time (Rev 19:11). In righteousness He will judge and make war, and the blood of the slain shall be splattered on [or drip from] His robe (v. 13). His entrance will be at the cost of all who have taken the mark of beast upon themselves. But He will finally bring peace with Him.

The Days of Separation

Consumed By Fire

When the Son of Man is revealed, both Head and Body will be covered only by its obedience. The person who has urged that the gospels be interpreted through the epistles will either keep the commandments or will become part of the great falling away (2 Thess 2:3), over which God will send a great delusion so that these disciples cannot repent (vv. 10-12). These disciples will be so thoroughly convinced by this great delusion that they are theologically correct that they will slay their righteous brothers as Cain slew Abel. They will think they do God a favor, but all they will do is mark themselves for death in the lake of fire. And there is nothing anyone can do or say even today to dissuade them of the course of action to which they have committed themselves; for they are now vessels of wrath endured for a season-they are vessels intended for dishonorable use, vessels of destruction.

The Commonality of the Flesh

There is nothing that can be done to the flesh to cause God to recognize a distinction between Jew of Greek, male or female, bond or free. To God the Father, all flesh is the same. It is only what comes from within the heart and from within the mind that causes God to make a distinction between one person who has been born of Spirit and another, with those things that come from within being manifest through the actions of the disciple, thereby setting the few who will be chosen apart from the many who have been called.

The Only Name

Salvation only comes through one name: Jesus of Nazareth. It comes through no other. But it will come to the person with a speech impediment, as well as to the person who speaks only English, or only Mandarin Chinese, or only Hindi. It comes acknowledging that the Creator of all that is--however His name is uttered--entered His creation, lived a sinless life, took on the sins of Israel, and died on the cross at Calvary only to be raised from the dead after three days, thereby giving His life as an acceptable sacrifice for the lawlessness of all who will be of that great nation descended from the patriarch Abraham, the father of the faithful. In no other name can it be said that the Creator of all that is died for the person who would be saved. Therefore, in no other name can a person be saved.

For the Love of a Slave

There are more excuses for remaining in disobedience than there are persons called to repentance, but excuses are only acknowledgement of the flesh's weakness and the mind's immaturity. A son of God who leaves disobedience for the slums of sin squanders his only chance for salvation--his life may be filled with praise music, but his story is a tragedy of the highest order. His strength becomes his undoing, for his desire to serve Jesus on his terms requires a stiff neck and a hard heart and an unwillingness to leave the "many" that are called but not chosen because of a covenant made with the prince of this world, a covenant that would have a slave obey his master in this world rather than God.

Whether They Hear or Refuse to Hear

Jesus wept over Jerusalem as He drew near and saw the city, for the city did not know the time of its visitation (Luke 19:44). Disciples today, though sensing that the end is near, do not know the time of their visitation. If they did, they would not practice lawlessness or eat locoweed. They would, instead, preach repentance to Israel, including to the vipers that seek purity through how they utter the name of God.

Hinder Not the Children

Jesus wept over Jerusalem as He drew near and saw the city, for the city did not know the It is not possible for a disciple, newly born of Spirit to take meaning from Jesus' parables. Even at a spiritual age that is equivalent to a human infant of nine months, the disciple still cannot comprehend that physically circumcised Israel is the symbol that reveals the acts and activities of spiritually circumcised Israel in the heavenly realm. Only when this child of God reaches a spiritual age that is equivalent to a human child of three years can the disciple comprehend that in the historical account of the natural nation of Israel the disciple can see how the Church looks to God. And even greater maturity is required before the disciple can appreciate the significance of Christ as both referent and symbol.

Circumcision of the Heart

The authority of the Church must wax and wane with each generation so that every disciple, after having sampled the love of God, can on his or her own really decide whether he or she will by faith keep the commandments as the Christian's expression of love for God. In other words, the collapse of fellowships, the turning away from Paul, the great falling away in the Tribulation--all are necessary opportunities that allow disciples to _escape_ from the oppression of God if that is the disciple's will.

Signs of the End of the Age

The prophet Amos wrote, "'For the Lord God [YHWH Elohim] does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets'" (3:7)-- will God bring the end of the age upon humankind without revealing when this end will be to His servants?
Let's Play the Prophecy Game

There are characteristics common to all false prophets, and it is by these characteristics that false prophets can be identified. Rome, the Roman Empire, the Roman Church, and the Roman See are not mentioned in biblical prophecies, whereas Babylon, Greece, and Persia are mentioned. Biblical prophecies are ultimately about what happens in the heavenly realm and in heavenly Jerusalem, for Israel does not need prophecies to know that in this world Iran is an adversary of the modern state of Israel. And Rome does not belong in biblical prophecies for there is no demonic king of Rome.

The Making of a False Prophet

The making of a false prophet begins with a lying spirit. And the principle lie every false prophet or false pundit tells is that endtime prophecies about Israel are about a physical nation or peoples. The making of a false prophet begins with a lying spirit and a journey into deceit, a journey of sufficient length to make dishonesty smell like a reasonable response to a difficult situation--and the marking of those who sigh and cry about the abominations committed in Israel begins in the sanctuary where disciples go when they enter into prayer (Ezek chap 9).

Cause No Offense

If Elijah was not the cause of lawless Israel's troubles, then the last Elijah will not be the cause of lawless Israel's troubles, with this latter Israel being a nation circumcised of heart--the sword of Elijah has morphed into fiery rhetoric, swung with the intent to slay the lawless while their spirit still has life and perhaps has the opportunity to repent. And the Christianity that moved away from Jesus--that outgrew its origin--is a philosophical and theological nation of Greeks, ruled by the demonic king of Greece. It is the avowed enemy of the church of God. While it can tolerate Jews, it has no tolerance for the church of God; for the _legalism_ of the church of God convicts Christendom of rebellion against God. If Jesus came to bring a sword, not peace (v. 34), He came to make trouble, with this trouble beginning in a person's own family. Yet to become a marketable religion to Hellenistic Greeks, family values and family bonds had to be elevated; so in the first centuries of Christendom, the anti-family message Jesus preached was morphed into a family values message that has come down through time as the_Christian message,_ with the L.D.S. [Mormon] teaching about family ties forming celestial relationships that seal families in heaven being the logical extension of the transformed message that long ago swerved away from Jesus.

The Spirit of Man

When Paul wrote of the spirit of a man, he was not referencing a memory chip being given to the human being that produces greater intellect than apparently possessed by beasts or that returns to God to _store_ in heaven the essence of the person. Rather, he was establishing the comparison that a person only has physical life coming from the person's physical breath until the person is born of Spirit. As long as the person only has physical life, the person cannot know the things of God. Before the person can know the things of God, the person must be born of Spirit and have a different mind and nature given to the person.

Nobody Taught Us That

No harsher indictment of the Salemville German Seventh Day Baptist Pastor Paul Manuel could have been made.
Filled With the Spirit

Even though the Body of Christ is spiritually dead because of its lawlessness, it has not dissipated into nothingness as Israel in Babylon did not disperse into nothingness, which is what happened to the northern House of Israel when Assyrians took this nation into captivity. The Body of Christ has been "recognizable" by having the Comforter or parakletos "hold" the Body together until it will be resurrected from death.

Farr, Farr Away

Pastor Farr removed himself and his fellowship at Stonefort from The Philadelphia Church's theological umbrella now three years ago, but apparently he cannot let go of his hubris that would have him dictating to The Philadelphia Church its beliefs, which he is very likely to change whenever the whim strikes him; for if he would not honor foundational documents with which and to which he agreed in July of 2003 for even six months, he is not likely to remain long anywhere theologically.

Tough Rhetoric

The person who preaches lawlessness is without love, and is actually hateful, despising those who by faith practice obedience, not always getting it right, but willing to keep at the task until judgments are revealed. And this portion will have demonstrated its faith at the cost of its life, which suggests that it takes a while for Satan to get his act together once he is cast into time, and that his allure has worn off at about the same time into the Endurance.

The Endurance, Part Seven

What disciples alive today need to be concerned about is the Rebellion that gives rise to the birth of a spiritual Cain: it will be easy to return to sin when there is no covering for sin but the person's obedience. All the person has to do is drop his or her guard for a moment and return to former ways if those ways have not been striving to walk uprightly before God as Jesus walked.

It is no wonder that the Father will deliver the Church into the hand of the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh following the second Passover restoration of life; it is a wonder that He has not utterly destroyed all who practice lawlessness while bearing the name of Christ.
The ten times that Israel was tested (with the tenth time resulting in Israel's refusal to enter the Promised Land) forms the chiral image of the ten times the Christian Church will be tested by this spiritual nation rebelling against the Sabbaths of the Lord, with these ten tests facilitated by the two witnesses before these two send plagues upon Israel to separate genuine disciples from false.

Everyone Who Calls on the Name of the Lord Will be Saved

Paul, a Pharisee convert, knew the law well enough that it was part of him, but Greek converts knew neither the law nor Jesus. They knew Plato and other Greek philosophers, but how were they to call on Him whom they did not know and in whom they had not previously believed?

Justified by Faith

The Harm of a Warning

Disciples will be killed because of the knowledge they have acquired, knowledge coming from me having been called to reread prophecy.

Nearing Midnight

If Israel would not listen to Jesus, and if Gentile disciples would not listen to Paul, it is extremely unlikely that endtime Christendom will listen to me. Sobeit. But knowing that a warning will not be heard--or at least not heard by many--doesn't negate the necessity to warn.

Health Care By Committee

Americans are going to get forced upon them healthcare by committee if the citizens of the nation do not rally behind strict constitutionalists, with the future man of perdition being among the leaders attempting to prevent the bankrupting of the nation. Again, this individual is as visible today as the two witnesses are invisible, and that is as it should be until the Second Passover liberation of Israel. Then the two witnesses will go head to head with the man of perdition and the false prophet, the first horseman of the Apocalypse.
